Production for the album took place from 2011, and continued in 2015 at several recording studios and was handled by Focus..., Dem Jointz, DJ Dahi, Cardiak, DJ Premier and Dr. Dre himself, among others. Compton features guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Cold 187um, The Game, Ice Cube, and Xzibit, among others.The album debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200, selling 295,000 equivalent album units in its first week. Upon its release, Compton received general acclaim from music critics.

1. The first mixtape from the Raw Hip-hop Headz community is "The Raw Tape Vol 1" this mixtape was constructed and put together by the rappers and MC's of the Raw Hip-Hop Headz facebook group. I created a post with a mixtape cover and told member's we were putting together a tape for the group by the group. Every week me and the admin would pick 3 winners from the submissions slot that we thought were dope. After, three weeks we had about 9 winner's. These winners were put on the "Raw Tape Vol 1" and the mixtape was distributed worldwide to different mixtape sites. The purpose was not only to bring Awareness to the Raw Hip-Hop Headz brand but to bring exposure to the artist on the tape.
