Jay Z Reasonable Doubt Album Review By David Greathouse

I posted a Nas review last Thursday. Every Thursday I'll be posting an Album review, and I'd like the group to help me pick a cool/catchy name for my weekly reviews. As you know, "Davids reviews" just isn't catchy...Let me hear some suggestions in the comments!
This Thursday's review: Jay-Z's debut album, Reasonable Doubt.
Although I don't personally like Jay-Z, this is probably one of my favorite debut albums. Two things I noticed that I liked the most was Jay-Z's rhythm and flow; Another great thing I liked was The Notorious B.I.G.'s part in the song "Brooklyns Finest", which is also my favorite song on the album. Is it wrong of me to say that this album just has a classic N.Y. sound? This is actually my first time hearing this album and I think I enjoyed it a little too much. As I type this, I'm listening to the song "22 Twos"..Y'all, this is some nice work Jay-Z is putting down. My overall Conclusion has to be, I love this album. I feel like it has an N.Y. feel and its DEFINITELY worth listening to. If you haven't heard this album, please check that out.. and if you like this album, slam that "Like" buttom. If you don't like it and want to explain why, let me hear why?

Artist - Nas Album Illmatic

This album has earned itself into the hearts of thousands upon thousands of Hip-Hop fans, and I'd consider it one of the best of all time. It is, in fact, a piece of art that is a reflection of the very thing our page is about, Raw Hip-Hop. The album in itself, is Raw. The album I'm talking about, as you all can already see, is Nas's debut album: Illmatic. I'd like to acknowledge at first notice, the beats. Can anyone deny the (Raw) beats of this album? I don't know about y'all, but it is hard to turn off once you hear the first song, N.Y. State of Mind, start playing; I'm not sure how to describe the uniqueness of the beats, other than New York produced classic work, if you love New York music, you have to love Illmatic's beats. Second I'd like to acknowledge the magnificent wordplay and rhymes... A lot, and I mean a lot of people who know Hip-Hop are more than probably going to know this rhyme:
"It drops deep as it does in my breath
I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death"There are so many more classic rhymes on this album, as I'm sure you all already know.Third, I'd like to ask the group members to give their own, personal review of this album in the comment section.

Today's Raw Review I'd like to post about a newly released album, and its been released by a Southern artist who most of us either grew up loving, or at least grew up knowing about; Scarface, and this album has more well known artists like Nas, Rick Ross, Z-Ro, and more.

Songs I suggest checking out: The dopest beat and most old school gangsta sound, "You" ft Cee-lo green.
Realest songs, "Do What I Do", "Steer", "God".
When I first started listening to this album, the first song I heard was "Steer", and I think its well needed song because of all the police brutality going on. Scarface not only seemed to get more modern beats and artists on his album, but this is something I brought up before that I thought was ABSOLUTELY needed in modern music: The discussion of modern issues, one of them being police brutality. I then listened to the album from front to back, and although I don't want to type too much, I'd like to mention the songs The Hot Seat (Also about modern issues) and the song "Do What I Do", which had Nas, Rick Ross and Z-Ro all together on one track; Then this song called "God", and I feel like for theists this song is the type of song we don't hear very often. I hope you check out this album because, honestly, its exactly what Hip-Hop needs right now. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Hip-Hop and knows Scarface (Or even to someone who doesn't like Scarface).
Please let me know what you thought about it in the comments. I don't want you to think this whole album is just about modern issues, those are just the choice songs that really touched me and I thoroughly enjoyed his wordplay and lyrics in those songs.

Today I'd like to do a Raw Review on the recent studio album released by the famous producer/artist Dr. Dre, and his new album: Compton.
In case you don't have time to read my review, or you just don't want to, I'll get right to asking my question to you; I'd love to know what you Raw Hip-Hop Headz have to say about the album, so please crush that comment section with your word and let me hear how you feel about this album.
Now, onto the Raw Review..

Listening to this album, I'm happy to hear new artists get a chance to work with someone like Dr. Dre and get their chance in Hip-Hop, because I feel like they have the potential to be great rappers. I find it inspiring that Dr. Dre has been in producing and rapping for this long, he's truly a walking legend and very talented. Even if you dislike his rapping, do you also dislike his producing skills? If so, I feel slightly bad for you, because this album truly is fairly good. I was excited to hear it once I heard about the known artists that would be on this album... Ice Cube, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Xzipit, Snoop Dogg, and of course, Dr. Dre; Does that not get you hype just hearing all those names!? Especially considering they're all on the same album.
Do I like the album? Well, lets say between 1-10, I'd give it 7.5. I do think the album is dope, and I do think it is greatly put together, but I feel like there are other albums that aren't getting enough credit. For example, Scarfaces new album. I feel like part of the reason a lot of people like this album is because of the artists on it (I fall into that same category, just so you know). Nonetheless, I think the album is dope and I definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Hip-Hop. I think the best song on the album (In my opinion, because we all have different opinions) is Talking to my Diary.
